Design Tip Tuesday {Adore Home Magazine}

I am loving the new issue of Adore Home!  It is filled with beautiful images of colorful spaces and filled with great tips and inspiration.

For my series today, I wanted to share with you some design tips for updating your kitchen from interior designer Caitlin Wilson, who is featured in Adore Home.  I recently met with a friend of mine who is doing some updating on her own kitchen and this article made me think of her and her space!

Interior Design Caitlin Wilson's 5 tips for
Transforming your bland kitchen into a stylish, chic one

1. "Update your old cabinets with a fresh coat of paint."- This is definitely the number one for inexpensive way to transform you kitchen.

2. "Add a back-splash, even if it's an inexpensive subway tile from the hardware store, it will make and amazing impact."

3. "Wallpaper instantly transforms kitchens by adding pattern to an otherwise simple space."

4. "Accessorize with pretty and functional pieces - bold dish towels, colorful spatulas and interesting bowls and books."

5. "Fresh flowers add a touch of life and color on basically no budget..."- And smell amazing!

Images from Adore Home Magazine of Caitlin's kitchen she designed.  Love it!  So clean and simple.

Lovely Wall Wednesday

I don't think much needs to be said about HGTV's Green Home.  The design is beautiful and speaks for itself.  The wooden accent wall doubles as headboard creating a dramatic feature.  I love the rustic and modern elements mixed together in this room, just beautiful!

Lovely Wall Wednesday {Imperial Trellis Pattern}

The Imperial Trellis pattern is nothing new but it has been making a big statement in interiors lately.  I must say, I think I am falling in love!

It is everywhere from upholstery, drapery, accessories and even wall paper, which is what I am featuring today. I am loving this dining room below.  The trellis pattern can be a bit busy as with any pattern, but this design was executed perfectly!  It is balanced with the white color palette and simple forms in the space.  There are so many traditional elements in this space yet it has a clean modern feel, my favorite!

Love it on the ceiling!

Black with the ghost imperial pattern, very classy!

 Great as an accent wall.

How do you feel about the imperial trellis pattern? I am so drawn to it, but I am not sure if I would use it on a large scale in my own space.  I do love it for the windows! That I just might do!
